The preserved pre-3D edition: a pixel-art, Canvas2D raycast expedition. Read enemy tells, work around cover, and master six tactical sectors—or survive an endless run.
Preserved Canvas2D raycaster · six sectors
Campaign · Standard
Start when you are ready.
WASD moves · arrows turn · Space/click fires · F sends a piercing pulse · P pauses. Touch: left side moves, right side aims; use Fire and Pulse below.
Campaign map & game modes
Clear the sentries, collect supplies, then find the exit.
Stages unlock in order. Practice can rehearse any stage. Earn palettes after 2, 4, and 6 clears—never permanent power upgrades.
Sound, controls & accessibility
Slower simulation and wider aim assistance use separate records. Visual preferences and control remapping do not. Reduced motion follows your device settings. Pause before remapping; Escape cancels a remap.
How to play & the biology behind the theme
Read the encounter. Rounded sentries (Δ) take one hit; insertion crosses (+) take two; deletion guards (−) take three. Warning bars precede attacks. Walls block both your fire and hostile projectiles.
Manage charges. Hold Fire for repeated precision shots. The piercing pulse costs three charges, damages aligned targets twice, and still cannot penetrate a wall. Collect supplies and walk close to relays to activate them.
Find the exit. Finish the encounter and relay objectives, then reach the lit exit. The radar marks enemies, relays, and your position. The guardian exposes its core between guarded attack phases.
Mastery medals. Clear a stage, land at least 70% of your shots, and finish without taking damage. A piercing shot counts as one accurate shot if it connects at least once. Practice has unlimited charges and prevents damage, but creates no records.
What is real? In bacterial DNA polymerase III, the ε subunit removes a mispaired nucleotide from the nascent DNA strand’s 3′ end using 3′→5′ exonuclease activity; the α subunit resumes synthesis in the 5′→3′ direction. This arcade is a metaphor—not a simulation of shooting established variants or repairing every kind of lesion. Not every variant is harmful.
Try the real sequence logic. Template: 3′ A G C 5′. Nascent DNA: 5′ T C X 3′. Remove terminal X, then add complementary G to obtain 5′ T C G 3′. The A/C/G/T ribbon above records pickups, not excised or synthesized DNA.
