Teaching & mentorship

Courses I've taught as a teaching assistant, students I've mentored, and the peer-review community I contribute to. I'm always glad to mentor students interested in computational genomics + AI.

Teaching assistant experience

  • Jan–May 2023

    Computing the Transcriptome (EN.580.458 / 658)

Teaching Assistant · Johns Hopkins University · Baltimore, MD

  • Feb–Jun 2019

    Data Science Programming (CSX 4001)

Teaching Assistant · National Taiwan University · Taipei, Taiwan

  • Sep 2018 – Jan 2019

Cornerstone EECS Design and Implementation (EE 1006)

Teaching Assistant · National Taiwan University · Taipei, Taiwan

Mentorship & community

  • Alan Mao

JHU Computer Science & Biomedical Engineering undergrad (2023–2025); now a Ph.D. candidate in Biomedical Data Science at Stanford.

  • JHU Deep Learning + Genomics Study Group

Co-founder and organizer (with Mahler Revsine) of a biweekly deep-learning + genomics seminar at Johns Hopkins (Oct 2024 – Aug 2025), hosting speakers to spark discussion among researchers working at the intersection of deep learning and genomics.

Algorithm visualizers

Interactive pedagogical tools I've built to help students and researchers develop visual intuition for sequence alignment, genome assembly, seed indexing, and probabilistic models.
