Kuan-Hao Chao

Kuan-Hao Chao is a computer science Ph.D. Candidate supervised by Dr. Steven Salzberg and Dr. Mihaela Pertea at Center for Computational Biology, Johns Hopkins University. He received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University (NTU). He was an exchange student at the College of Engineering & Computer Science, Australian National University (ANU).

Kuan-Hao Chao’s primary research interest is designing ultra-fast algorithms for computational genomics, specifically targeting transcriptome (RNA sequencing), gene annotation and genome assembly. He is an advocate of open source software. Check out his NEWS and GitHub page.
